Texas leads the nation in uninsured rates, including one million children. Gina Hinojosa, the Democratic nominee for Governor of Texas, is serious about health care and is committed to expanding health insurance and care for children.
On July 29th, Gina Hinojosa will join us for a Health Activist Town Hall where health care professionals will hear from about her plans for health care in Texas, and discuss what a Hinojosa administration would mean for patients and providers.
She will be joined by Donald M. Berwick, MD, MPP, President Emeritus and Senior Fellow at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement and former Administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. A pediatrician and Harvard Medical School faculty member, he is one of the nation’s foremost authorities on health care quality and improvement, has authored more than 160 scientific articles and five books, and was appointed Honorary Knight Commander of the British Empire for his work with Britain’s National Health Service.
Moderated by Billy Millwee — former head of Medicaid in Texas — the conversation will feature the candidate’s vision for transforming health care in the state, talk about how she’ll get it done, and explore how health care professionals can help make it happen. This is a working conversation between a candidate who is serious about health care and the professionals who deliver it every day.
